PCforest Database
This Interactive Library database contains 14,639 records for the patents, books, and articles abstracted by the Society to form the PCforest database. The majority of this information was abstracted from proceedings, laboratory reports, technical journals, and trade journals published between the years 1974 and 1986. Exceptions to this date range are worldwide articles on wood machining compiled by Dr. Peter Koch and his colleagues, some of which date back to the 1940s. This database represents a significant body of basic wood science and technology information that will be useful to individuals working in research and development.

Basic Search Instructions: Type your search criteria into the query box. To define your search, use the Boolean operators & (and), / (or), ! (not) within a query box. The Boolean AND, OR, NOT droplist on the left can be used to combine or limit information between multiple query boxes (e.g., a specific author and a specific year). On the right, each Browse Choices button opens a dialog box that has the exact words and phrases used in the database, which can be added to the query box. Adding information eliminates typing mistakes and trial and error searching. Detailed instruction are included in the Help file.

After you have defined your search criteria, click the Submit Query button.

Use the Browse Choices button to choose from the titles included in this database.
Type the author’s last name followed by an asterisk (*) or use the Browse Choices button.
If you don’t know the exact title of the article, use an amperstand (&) between words to indicate that the words must be present. Use a slash (/) between words to indicate the words can be present.
Type a single year or type multiple years with a slash (/) between the numbers. Use a colon to search for a range (e.g., 1980:1985 will find publications published between 1980 and 1985 inclusive).
Use the Browse Choices button to choose from 38 topics.
