This CD includes the proceedings of the Southeastern Utility Pole Conference held February 22-23, 2010 in Memphis, Tennessee. The fourth such event held in the Southeastern United States on the subject, the Pole Conference brings together representatives from electric utility, telecom, municipal and other governmental power agencies, as well as manufacturers of utility poles, inspectors, consulting engineers, and others.
The Pole Conference is a forum for learning, sharing and building relationships among those associated with the manufacture, treatment, installation, and regulation of utility poles. Keynote presentations describe the state and value of the utility pole industry. Thirty formal presentations divided among a Technical Form and four Sessions cover issues related to upgrading the grid, greening the grid, poles and the environment, and pole manufacture and stewardship.
