his Proceeding, from the 15th International Nondestructive Testing of Wood Symposium, which was held in Duluth, Minnesota, USA, consists of technical papers that summarize presentations made by research, development, and technology transfer experts from throughout the world. The papers presented are an excellent source of technical information on a wide range of topics — from the basics of nondestructive testing (NDT) to its’ application for assessing seedlings and trees through historic structures. The general session included keynote presentations on stress wave, transverse vibration, and near infrared NDT techniques. A presentation on the importance of technology transfer was a highlight of this session. Additional session topics included: standing tree decay detection and hazard analysis; standing timber quality assessment; NDE for grading and quality control; and wood condition assessment. In addition to the papers, abstracts from the technical forum (poster) session are also included.
