The Forest Products Society’s 65th International Convention on June 19-21, 2011 will take place in Portland, Oregon at Doubletree Hotel Lloyd Center.

The Doubletree Hotel Portland is the first lodging property in Oregon to achieve a Green Seal certification and is serving as the FPS conference hotel. The Pacific Northwest is known for its diverse landscape and productive forests. Competing demands for our resources on a global scale require planning for future generations so their needs can be met. The host hotel for the convention is the Doubletree Hotel Portland. The newly renovated Doubletree is located in the center of the Portland Metro area and is the largest hotel within walking distance to the Oregon Convention Center, Rose Garden Arena, and Portland Memorial Coliseum. Also within walking distance, guests can enjoy world-class entertainment, tax-free shopping at specialty boutique shops as well as national brand stores and of course, Portland's renowned culinary scene with endless dining options. Portland's popular attraction OMSI – the Oregon Museum of Science & Industry is just a short cab ride away (10-15 minutes). Portland's MAX light rail stops just outside the hotel (Lloyd Center/NE 11th stop) and offers service from the Portland International Airport. MAX makes getting around town easy with a rail free zone from the hotel to the heart of downtown Portland.

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Doubletree Hotel Portland at a special group rate of $145 + tax for Standard guestrooms or $165 + tax for Premium guestrooms. The room block will be held through June 3. After June 3, remaining rooms in the block will be released for sale to the general public, and attendees cannot be guaranteed the group rate or room availability after this date. A deposit of first night’s room revenue + tax is required with all reservation requests. The deposit will be forfeited for all no-shows and for all reservations cancelled within 72 hours prior to arrival. The hotel is located 7 blocks from the heart of downtown and within Rail Free Zone, which offers free public transportation on MAX Light-Rail and Street Car systems throughout the downtown area. A block of rooms has been reserved for students at the University Place Hotel at a special group rate of $84 + tax for double occupancy. The room block will be held through Monday, April 18, 2011. After April 18, remaining rooms in the block will be released for sale to the general public, and students cannot be guaranteed the group rate or room availability after this date. A deposit of first night’s room revenue + tax is required with all reservation requests. Cancellations must be received 24 hours in advance of arrival to avoid a penalty charge of one night plus tax.
